We are proud to share that Norstar is on the organising committee for the inaugural adventure race happening in Japan next year. The Mission To Seafarers Adventure Race Japan (ARJ) has been in the making for quite some time and it is finally happening!

This 2-day challenge and 3 days of networking will take place on the Izu Peninsula, Japan in May 2023. With this adventure race, we aim to gather industry players in Asia to acknowledge the critical role of seafarers and promote the mission’s work in supporting seafarers in need. All sponsors and participants of this exciting race will support the Mission’s Emerging Port Strategy 2022-26, a five year plan to develop existing operations in Asia specifically, but also globally.

“Over almost 30 years of working in this industry, I have seen many challenges faced by seafarers and also the important role that The Mission to Seafarers provides. I am also the son of a seafarer myself, so I understand what it is like for a family member and The Mission’s work often includes extending support to family members.”  Hear from Tom Bonehill, not only the co-owner of Norstar but also the leading committee member of MTS Adventure Race as he shared his vision, purpose, what went on in the background of planning this meaningful adventure race, and the benefits of participating in it.
