Norstar Ship Management held a Sea Staff Officers Forum at the Sedona Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar over 3 days 25, 26 & 27 February 2014.

The Forum was attended by staff from Norstar Ship Management;
Mr Chris Kirton, Managing Director,
Capt. Sidhartha Mathur, Marine Risk & Quality Manager,
Capt. Si Thu Thwin, Marine Manager,
Capt. Aung Ngwe Oo, Marine Superintendent,
Mr Andrew Russ, Technical Superintendent,
Mr E K Naganathan, Systems & Technical Superintendent, and;
Mr Ye Thiha, Accountant

52 Ratings and 73 Officers were in attendance over the 3 days and participated in the forum that was a mixture of presentations, team participation in scenarios and interactive sessions. Staff from our manning partner Sai Beacon were in attendance and again successfully arranged and managed the Forum. Mr Anthony Bonehill of the Manned Model Centre of Warsash Maritime Academy in the UK was a guest speaker and spoke at length with Deck Officers concerning ship handling and interaction. Another guest speaker, Mr Amar Hanspal of ABS Academy in Singapore conducted a training course in Crisis Management and Accident Investigation.

An evening dinner was held on the final day which was attended by all sea staff and their families.
